Introduction to YeCha

YeCha is an open-source blog and content management system built purely with PHP + MySQL—no framework, no Node, no Redis. A single PHP process can run the entire site. Markdown authoring, multilingual support, plugin and theme cloud marketplace, full-page caching, one-click upgrades, ready to use out of the box; suitable for personal blogs, technical notes, documentation sites, small team websites, and light communities.

YeCha — one of the eight legions of Dharma protectors in Buddhism, agile in form and steadfast in guarding the Dharma. We build our blog system the same way: agile, restrained, and returning content to the author.

  • Agile: Pure PHP + MySQL, no framework, no Redis, one process runs the whole site; public pages return in milliseconds with full-page caching.
  • Simple and usable: Markdown writing, theme and page layout adjustable from the admin panel, dark mode and mobile adaptation, full-text search, comments moderated before publishing, view count deduplicated by "1 per unique visitor per natural day".
  • Extensible: Multilingual content grouped, terminology aliases linked with interface language packs; plugin/theme cloud marketplace one-click installation (SHA-256 verification + idempotent migration).
  • Data autonomy: Full database backup/restore, one-click upgrade with automatic backup and audit trail; MIT open source, welcome self-hosting and secondary development.
