[Houyue Youlan Ancient White Tea SGS Test Report

Houyue, born for crowdfunding, has always put health and safety first since the launch of its first crowdfunded tea product "Liushan Bing" in 2015. Of course, "putting first" is not just lip service.

We adhere to a serious and responsible attitude towards our crowdfunding partners. We randomly selected one cake of Houyue's 14th product, Youlan Ancient White Tea, and sent it to the SGS (Shanghai) laboratory for testing. We received an excellent test report and are making it public here. Any consumer can click to read it. We are open and honest, treating others with sincerity, hoping to offer you a cup of clean, delicious, and healthy high-end white tea.

Currently, white tea is dominated by Fujian teas, but Yunnan white tea has its own raw material advantages. Besides the advantages of Yunnan tea trees growing in high mountains and being arbor trees, the tea trees grow in forest-covered, pristine environments, which is their greatest advantage.

Confidence comes from truthfulness and sincerity. The truthfulness lies in the raw materials, i.e., fresh leaves; the sincerity lies in the attitude, i.e., the philosophy. Staying away from tricks and storytelling, and focusing on quality and excellence—this is the true meaning of Houyue's "from forest big trees." All subsequent crowdfunding series products of Houyue follow this principle: let test reports speak, let scientific data speak, let products speak, and let consumers speak for themselves.

Houyue spends more time, energy, and cost on product quality, including the 14th product, Youlan Ancient White Tea. Because Houyue puts safety and health first, it unhesitatingly sends products to SGS, the world's most stringent and professional testing institution. As an internationally recognized inspection, verification, testing, and certification body, SGS follows EU testing standards. This is fair to consumers; only with strict demands can responsibility and quality be seen.

Out of 100 tests, 99 items were not detected, and only 1 item was close to the critical value.

It is particularly important to note that in this test, anthraquinone was detected in Youlan Ancient White Tea—its source is not pesticides, but possibly a dye from certain printing components in the carton. The Chinese national standard does not include this test. In other words, if sent to a domestic testing institution, anthraquinone would not be detected; only EU standards include this test item. Even so, the anthraquinone level in Youlan Ancient White Tea is below the EU standard: the test result is 0.018 (mg/kg), while the EU limit is 0.02 (mg/kg).
