Sleeping until ten in the morning, slowly making my way to the office, first sitting by the tea table, drinking a few infusions of fine Pu'er prepared by the tea artist, grabbing the tea snacks on the table and eating them happily, flipping through my phone and newspapers, waiting for lunch.
For lunch, I order a boxed meal, or invite a few friends to go out for a meal together, and if I like, I can have some wine. After lunch, I continue sitting by the tea table, making a few phone calls to invite people over for tea, and I often go out to friends' places to drink tea. When people arrive, we exchange brief pleasantries, or if we already know each other, I instruct the tea artist to brew a ten-year-old raw Pu'er. Several of us chat idly, some playing with their phones, some reading newspapers. After tasting the tea, we each share our opinions on it, praising each other about how good the tea is and where its merits lie. If someone asks about the price, the conversation might drift from Iraq to domestic constitutionalism; the topics are not fixed, until the tea becomes weak. During the tea drinking, people leave and arrive, but generally it's the same: they sit down and continue drinking tea. If not fully satisfied, we brew a new pot, such as old Banzhang ancient tree tea, and continue the tea drinking as above.
Before 5 PM, guests usually all leave, some taking some tea with them. If guests haven't left, we discuss where to go for dinner and what to do after. When guests leave, I make a few calls to friends to see if there's any evening plan; if not, I go home.
Do you like this kind of life? Is it especially comfortable? Is this the life you dream of?
Then open a tea shop. The bosses at our Kangle Tea Market live this kind of life.
I'm about the same, over thirty, doing work that an eighty-year-old could do.
If you love him, persuade him to come into the tea business.
PS: The following article "If you hate him, also let him come into tea" will be released soon.
